At Beat Drop all of our instructors are working musicians and artists. Working in the trenches and being apart of the music community is important for instructors and gives them a modern perspective on the current music industry.  



Brandon Smith is a sought after session keyboardist, musician, synth programmer and avid student of keyboard history. His love of vintage equipment and history eventually led him to work for the National Music Centre in Calgary, where he demonstrates many of their instruments and artifacts (including a world class collection of synthesizers) for the public.

Releases on over twenty labels such as Toolroom, Baroque, Audio Therapy, Perfecto, Black Hole, Armada, Warner Music, Vicious, Virgin and EMI, Tim has firmly established himself as a global EDM producer and engineer. Not one to keep all his secrets under his cap, Timothy is Beat Drop's Mixing and Mastering instructor and enjoys sharing his expertise. These production methods are put in to practice every day at The Mixplant, a mixing/mastering facility focused on electronic music where Tim is the head engineer.

Enoque is a musician, composer, producer, and dj. He has 30 years of experience with bands and groups in a variety of genre's; from heavy metal to country and most of every thing else in between. His electronic aliases are, Enno Karr, Bread N Butta and a new moniker, One Less Of Them, debuting an EP in 2016 through Substation Recordings. He has released works through Dansant Records in Sweden, and continues to release with Substation Recordings, as well as other albums you might find hidden on the interweb. You can catch him at Habitat Living Sound dancing or DJing. He is involved with Studio Social, a monthly initiative to promote and share information with
Calgary producers and has hosted several of their nights at Habitat Living Sound. Enoque's experience and passion for making music will be evident in the way he talks about

An award winning producer and composer, Mitch is an Ableton Certified Trainer and course developer at Beat Drop. He has produced music for companies like Warner Brothers, ESPN, Oakley, Nissan, Lamborghini, Activision, Nintendo, Adidas and many more. Along with working on his side project "Mr Elastic", Mitch loves that Beat Drop gets to pull the curtains back on the secrets of modern day production and is allowed to mentor the next gen of laptop producers.

As Subaqueous, he blends his electronic past with future and past organic production techniques and, to date, has released 5 albums and 6 EP's. Through he began sharing his knowledge and give away instruments he built for his own music. His website now hosts complex MIDI packs, free Ableton Live resources, articles on production techniques, and more.

Isaac Cotec is the founder and manager of the record label Invibe Music. Invibe represents some of the Pacific Northwest’s best electronic music and specializes in midtempo dance music. Through managing the label, and his own musical career, Isaac Cotec has stood out for his ability to balance the business side of music with his own creative passions.
